Prof. Pamela Mbabazi

Prof. Pamela Mbabazi is a distinguished academic and leader in the field of Development Studies. Currently serving as the Executive Chairperson of the National Planning Authority (NPA) in Uganda, she is also a member of Cabinet and serves as an Advisor to the President. In addition, she has been recently appointed to the Advisory Board of the Africa Hub at Warwick University, further highlighting her influential role in shaping development policies and initiatives on the African continent.

Previously, Prof. Mbabazi held prominent academic and leadership positions, including as the Head of Research at the African Peace & Security Program at the African Union’s Institute for Peace & Security Studies, based at Addis Ababa University. She also served as a Professor of Development Studies, as well as the Deputy Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Development Studies at Mbarara University of Science & Technology (MUST).

With expertise in Development Planning, Political Economy, and Governance Studies, Prof. Mbabazi has a strong track record of contributing to both academic and policy-related work, particularly in areas affecting governance and sustainable development across Africa.
