Vanessa Wannicke

Vanessa Wannicke is Senior Manager at the Federation of German Industries (BDI) in Berlin. BDI represents more than 100,000 private enterprises employing around 8 million people. Within the organisation, she manages BDI’s working groups on development policy and export finance.

In light of global systemic competition, Vanessa advocates for a more strategic and innovative approach to development cooperation. She supports the close alignment of development policy and foreign trade promotion.

Representing the interests and needs of German industry, Vanessa serves as an advisor on key committees, e.g. at the OECD and Euler Hermes, Germany’s export credit agency.

Before joining BDI in 2020, she worked as a consultant at KPMG and gained extensive international experience at a political foundation in Singapore, the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce (AHK) in Dubai and the German Mission to the United Nations in New York City. Vanessa is a trained economist. She studied in Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden.
